Barret started in the Financial Services industry as an intern at both Smith Barney and then Merrill Lynch while completing his Finance degree at San Diego State University in 1998. Upon graduating he was immediately hired full time as a junior advisor on one of the most successful teams in the San Diego office. The team then decided to take control of the business and started their own independent firm in La Jolla, CA.

After spending 6 years as a Financial Advisor, Barret then shifted gears to Business Development and Advisor Recruiting where he spent 15 years at LPL Financial, 2 years at Fidelity and 2+ years with Fusion Financial Partners. He has successfully guided hundreds of advisors to independence and RIAs over the last 20+ years.

During his spare time Barret spends a lot of time with his family at the beach, traveling, and on the baseball field. His wife Leah is an avid runner who trains and runs half marathons all year long. His three boys Jake, Druw and Cole all play baseball year round with their schools and travel club teams. Barret also coaches baseball at Point Loma High School.
